Parental partnerships

We pride ourselves on the unique partnerships we develop with our parents and carers. These successful relationships can have long lasting beneficial effects on children’s learning and well-being. Parents are regarded as members of our nursery community, with their views being valued and respected. Every parent and carer are kept informed of their child’s learning and development, being involved and included in all aspects of their child’s educational journey.

At Barrowford Nursery we recognise parents as the first and most important educators of their children. All our practitioners see themselves as partners with parents in providing high quality care and education for the child.

There are many ways that we develop these successful partnerships i.e.

  • Exchanging knowledge about their child’s needs, activities, interests and progress
  • Our regular parental partnership days such as ‘Bring someone special to nursery day’
  • Parent workshops
  • Regular coffee and cake evenings which provide parents the opportunity to discuss and talk through their children’s progress.

Barrowford Nursery strongly believe that a solid, open and respectful partnership with parents is central to the child having a balanced and well-rounded beginning to their development.
